At the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, BYD Seagull officially launched pre-sales with a pre-sale price range of 78800 to 95800 yuan. It is expected to be launched in the first half of the year and will compete with models such as Wuling Bingo, Neta V, and Zero Run T03 to seize the market.
The Seagull is a brand new model of BYD's new generation technology that has moved from a high-dimensional perspective to a wide market. It has two driving ranges of 305km or 405km (CLTC comprehensive operating mode), as well as twelve standard features such as four airbags, ESP electronic vehicle stability system, and fast charging (30/40kW).
In terms of appearance, as another brand new model in BYD's Ocean series, the Seagull continues some of the ocean aesthetic design concepts. Unlike the big brother Dolphin, the new car adopts a dynamic low lying design, which is overall more rugged, with clear edges and full of fashionable and sporty feeling. The front face adopts a closed design, with trapezoidal air intake headlights below. The official design of the headlight group is a combination of six diagonal lines, known as the "Ice Breaking Eye", paired with a three-dimensional diamond grid gradient of "Ice Crystal Frost" texture, which is intense and full of a sense of sharpness.
In terms of body size, the length, width, and height of the Seagull are 3780 * 1715 * 1540mm, and the wheelbase is 2500mm, which is one circle smaller than the Dolphin. The charging port is located on the passenger side and is expected to be the same as the dolphin, integrating the fast and slow charging ports together.
The new car adopts through type tail lights at the rear, with "ice crystal and frost" designs on both sides, which are integrated with the rear windshield, making it highly recognizable. It is also equipped with a "ducktail" tail wing, giving it a more sporty overall feel.
The Seagull is equipped with a floating LCD instrument panel, a 10.1-inch floating central control screen, and a multifunctional steering wheel of the same model as the Dolphin. There is a row of physical buttons and air conditioning ports under the central control screen, with a shift mechanism on the far left, and an air conditioning outlet, wireless charging panel for mobile phones, and dual cup holder below. At the same time, the T-shaped platform has been hollowed out to accommodate some temporary items, such as girls' handbags and high heels.
The front seats of the new car are equipped with integrated seats, while the rear seats are equipped with two seats, visually wrapped in leather material.
In terms of safety performance that users are most concerned about, Seagull is also outstanding. The seagull is equipped with a "super safe" "blade battery" that inherits the safety genes of the e-platform 3.0, providing users with a comprehensive security guarantee from the underlying foundation to platform technology.
Seagull adopts a pure electric exclusive safety body structure. The proportion of high-strength steel in the body in white is up to 61%, which is at the leading level of the same level. It can provide the most direct safety protection for the passengers in the car. The Seagull also comes standard with driver/passenger airbags and front and rear through head airbags throughout the entire series. It is an intelligent power braking system specifically designed for new energy vehicles, integrating more than ten functions, balancing safety and efficiency.
In addition to mobile apps, smart keys, and Bluetooth keys, users can also unlock vehicles through NFC keys, making operation more convenient. The Seagull is equipped with the DiLink intelligent internet connection system, and can easily navigate, listen to music, and watch videos with a 10.1-inch adaptive rotating floating pad. It not only supports intelligent voice recognition, but also remotely views vehicle status or controls the vehicle through cloud services.
